MEMBER BLOGS

We feature one of our member's Blogs every week here.

Vincent Kan

This week we're featuring member Jessica Dobias's Techno-ly Legal. Cool name for a legal tech blog, and she posted about her thesis that will be on the "lack of transparency and "meeting of the minds" when a user consents to online Terms of Service Agreements." TOS have become necessary yet aggravating legalease, no?

If you'd like to suggest a blog that has not been featured, or that you think our membership would enjoy, please let me know and I'll be happy to feature it in this spot.

LAWYERS HELPING ONE ANOTHER DURING THE DOWNTURN

Our mission is to create a community of attorneys each of whom is dedicated to assisting one other attorney in making it through the economic downturn.

** Seasoned attorneys will make themselves available as mentors to young attorneys, particularly those struggling to start a practice or recently laid off and searching for the career they are destined to have.

** Attorneys in need of mentoring will seek out the seasoned attorneys on this site (and any legal marketing people who join us) for the purposes of building their books of business or building their own practice from scratch.

** Attorneys with advanced practice skills (transactional, deposition, pre-trial motions, negotiation, and trial skills) will help guide new attorneys seeking to obtain those skills both via this site's various tools -- discussion forums, blogs, event announcements and the like, as well as direct mentoring via email or telephone (or a cup of Joe)

Please let us know how we can make this site better to suit your needs of the moment.

HOW TO NETWORK ON THIS SITE

* Connect with other professionals based on their area of specialization by locating them with the "search" function and then "friending" them or sending them a message about how they might be of assistance to you or you to them.

* Post your articles here: this alone will bring you to the attention of network members as well as provide a service to the network as a whole. Remember, the power of reciprocity is very strong! Give a little and great rewards will follow.

* Announce an event you are attending or organizing and invite other members of Lawyer Connection to attend.

* Start a discussion in the "Forum" by asking questions or providing advice to new attorneys; recently laid off attorneys or attorneys looking for alternative careers. *

POST YOUR PHOTO TO YOUR PROFILE; failing to do so is like walking into a networking event with a paper bag on your head!

In gratitude for their willingness to mentor young lawyers, mentor members may send advertising to either Gwynne or Vickie and we will post it for at least one week here.
